Starting a new job can be scary and even discouraging and as you’re coming up to speed. But a good hiring manager makes sure you have the right tools, instruction and training needed to succeed. He’ll also hook you up with someone to call if you get into trouble. When Jesus was sending His disciples into a hostile world, in Mathew 10:19, He said, But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how, or what, you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak. God may simply be asking you to encourage a friend with His Word. Whatever He asks, don’t be afraid, “Where God Guides, He Provides”.

PROG 216 – “Red Letter Messages” – A Study Through The Book Of Mark – He Works With Us – Part Two

I’m encouraged to see that the twelve apostles, who God used mightily, were not perfect people. In fact, we even see Peter deny Christ three times on the night of He was taken. Peter wasn’t perfect, but he did ask for forgiveness and he believed in the one, who could give it. No, we don’t have to be perfect, but if we turn from wrong and trust Christ, He can work with that.

A father and son work together on a pinewood derby car as part of an upcoming Boy Scout event. The car is to be mainly built by the boy, with some guidance from Dad. There’s much to do, much to learn, plenty oftrial and error, and even a few temper tantrums. But Dad stands by patently; ready to help when needed, as he watches the growth of his young son. He is pleased.

Most successful athletes will agree that there’s no gain without pain. For example, they’ll put their bodies thru repeated stress to increase strength, and endurance, while trusting their trainer to protect them from going toofar. The result is a stronger, healthier body. The process of building our spiritual strength is not that different.

When we see someone hurting, our heart goes out, and we want to help. But how much can we really help if we, ourselves, don’t understand what they’re going thru. How could a seasoned trainer teach a boxer to persist and win the fight if he had never taken a punch? Jesus went thru it, He understands, and He can help. Sometimes we go thru it so we can help.

In Mathew 15:13, “When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. ”He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

When watching world or local news I never get use to hearing of the ugly things people can inflict on each other and I never get tired of hearing the acts of kindness, which are also possible. The reality is, we’re all capable of both. But there is hope. We can be saved from our ugly, by the only one who is truly beautiful, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Leading up to political elections you’ll see various political ads in the media, and far too many of them are negative attack ads. Sometimes, they don’t even mention their own candidate. They only attack the opponent. You may even be, familiar with the targeted candidate, and know the accusations are completely false. Fortunately for believers, we know from Romans 8:28, that it all works out.

Have you ever been the subject of a false accusation or maybe the target of a full out campaign of slander? We see such an event in 1st Samuel where Saul, the first King of Israel, even sought the life of young David, after David had proved himself mighty in battle, fighting for the King. Of course it was out of envy, and in the end, things didn’t go that well for Saul.
